The owners of this house in Kent had an even greater challenge as they were working from a blank canvas. To help them make the best use of the space, they called on the expertise of Rencraft, designers and makers of bespoke handmade cabinetry and furniture.
To design a cool, relaxing and functional kitchen in the heart of this open-plan house, creating a sociable area for the entire family.The couple love period style and were keen for the look to be timeless but fresh, and to work with their modern, state-of-the-art appliances.
A long run of cabinets with clean lines, painted inFarrow & Ball’s Pavilion Grey, give an updated take on the classic Shaker style, while a large central island unit, painted in Railings, also by Farrow & Ball, houses appliances and provides an informal breakfast bar.
It also has the dual-purpose of separating the ‘working’ part of the kitchen from the eating area.To emphasise the bright and airy feel, Caesarstone quartz worktops help to bounce light around the room, while mirrored splashbacks enhance the sense of space.
